Does Suicide End It All?

an outline by Pastor Alan Brooks

A familiar saying today is "I'm going to end it all."

More suicides among teens today than any other group.

With this philosophy, life is soon monotonous to youth - drugs, rock, sex - any kind, then I've had enough.
No, suicide doesn't end it all - it only begins eternity...(see Somewhere Forever).

I Sam. 31:3-4; II Sam. 17:23; Matt. 27:5

I. WHAT SUICIDE DOES END

1. Ends Opportunity To Be Saved For the Lost Heb.9:27

Doesn't solve problems or alleviate suffering.

2. It Costs Opportunity For Service For the Christian.

Will a Christian commit suicide? Yes,

A. Samson did.

B. Some slow - drawn out.

C. Meet the matter at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

II. WHAT SUICIDE CANNOT DO

1.  It Cannot Destroy The Reason And Human Consciousness.

All who have ever lived are conscious now.

B. The angels and Sodomites. Jude 6,7

C. Lazarus - comforted. Lk. 16:25 "Send Lazarus" - he was awake.

D. Moses and Elijah. Mt.17:3

2.  It Cannot Prevent the Resurrection.

All shall bodily live.

Acts 24: 15 All that are in the graves (body) shall come forth. Jn.5:28

Two resurrections - 1000 years apart. I Cor.15:20-24 I Th.4:13 Rev. 20:4,5

1st resurrection unto life.

2nd resurrection unto death. Rev.20:5, 12

3.  It Cannot Destroy The Judgment. Heb.9:27

  1. Saved - works reward. I Cor.3:10
  2. Lost - works - lake of fire. Rev.20:16

4.  It Cannot Destroy Eternity   (Isaiah 57:15)

COME A. Eternal - everlasting life. Jn.3:36
DEPART B. Eternal punishment. Mt.25:46

"Where will you be 1OO,O00 years from now?"

III. WHAT SUICIDE TEACHES

1. To The Unsaved.

There is more to life than possessions. Lk.12:15

2. To The Saved.

Urgency of giving the Gospel to the world. Ezek.3:l7,18

A. Bloody hands. Acts 20:26
